San Francisco creative team David Swope and Neil Levy created this ad campaign on behalf of Santa Rosa-based electric car pioneer ZAP (an acronym for Zero Air Pollution). The ads poke fun at SUVs, while introducing the newest compact electric LUV (Light Utility Vehicle). Intended to generate consumer interest and attract independent auto dealers to sign up for the company’s new car dealer network, the ads are anything but traditional. In the understatement of the year, art director Swope quipped, “We’ll probably never get invited to work on the Hummer account.”
